For laboratory research use only. Not for human or veterinary use. BPC-157 is not a licensed medicine in the UK, and nothing here is medical advice.
BPC-157 is a synthetic peptide of 15 amino acids, based on a fragment of a protein found in gastric juice (it is sometimes called a “stable gastric pentadecapeptide”). It is one of the most researched peptides in tissue biology. This hub links our BPC-157 articles, products and lab tools.
What is BPC-157?
“BPC” stands for Body Protection Compound. The peptide’s sequence is published, and you can read about it in BPC-157 amino acid sequence. For a plain-English overview see What does BPC-157 do? and Is BPC-157 a growth factor?
What published research looks at
- Gastrointestinal models – much of the early work, led by Sikiric and colleagues in Zagreb, used rodent gut models. See BPC-157 in gut research.
- Tendon, ligament and muscle models – summarised in Seiwerth et al., “BPC 157 and Standard Angiogenic Growth Factors” (Curr Pharm Des, 2018). Read our tendon and ligament research review.
- Signalling pathways – angiogenesis (VEGFR2), nitric-oxide signalling and FAK-paxillin pathways in cell models. See BPC-157 mechanism.
- Pharmacokinetics – half-life and pharmacokinetics review.
- Comparisons – BPC-157 vs TB-500.
Almost all of this evidence is from animal and cell studies, with very little controlled human data. Results in rodents do not establish safety or effects in people. See what safety research shows.
Quality: HPLC and COA
Our BPC-157 is HPLC-verified with a COA for every batch. A credible COA should list the batch number, HPLC purity, identity confirmation (mass spectrometry), and the test date. More in our COA and HPLC guide.
Lab handling and calculations
BPC-157 is supplied lyophilised. Store sealed vials cold and dry; reconstitute according to your lab’s protocol. Our peptide calculator works out concentration from vial size and diluent volume.
